Grandma’s Homemade Stuffing

I will make this for a small serving.  Just add to it to make more.


  • Chicken broth
  • Cornbread
  • 10 inch pan
  • 1/2 loaf of toasted bread
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1/2 stalk chopped celery
  • 1 Tbsp of salt or more to taste
  • 1 Tsp of pepper or more to tast
  • 1 Tsp of poultrey seasoning or more or to taste

Optional:  Cook a turkey in a roaster oven.  Remove turkey and save broth in the roaster oven.

Crumble cornbread and crumbled toasted bread in turkey or chicken broth.  Saute onions and celery and add to crumbled cornbread and bread.  Mash with potato masher.

Add salt, pepper and poultry seasoning and mash altogether until consistency of dressing.  Add extra chicken broth if needed so it will be moist.

Cook at least 1 hour in slow cooker such as a crock pot.

You may taste to see if the seasoning is right.  Don’t let it get too dry, just add chicken broth.
